Each day during National Transfer Student Week, October 19-23, 2020, CollegeSource moderated free virtual presentations and panel discussions on various transfer topics.
For this 3rd annual webinar series, we changed it up! New this year were small group discussions so attendees could network and learn from peers. We also added bonus sessions to demonstrate our solutions in action.
🎉 Most sessions recordings are available to watch now! Explore the webinars in the Daily Schedule below.

Transfer students face many challenges when attempting to apply previously earned credits to their next institution. One understudied challenge faced by students is what we call “stranded credits”: academic credits that students earned but cannot access due to an unpaid balance with a previously attended institution that is holding their transcript. This session will introduce the problem of stranded credits, describe how it can interact with other transfer policies, present original data on the scope of the issue nationwide, and discuss some potential solutions to the problem that have been adopted at the local and state levels.

In 2017, the American Association of Collegiate Registrars and Admissions Offers (AACRAO) released the Transfer Student Bill of Rights, detailing the rights of all transfer students, so as to ensure equitable and ethical treatment. Join us as we overview these rights, and begin to think about ways that we can uphold them via the work that we do. This presentation will largely focus on process and technologies, including how Transferology and TES can respectively help provide students information about transfer, as well as create an equitable workflow and documentation system for transfer evaluations.
