The CLim (CREDITLIM, Credit Limit) field on the course line of a sub-requirement allows you to limit the amount of credit an individual course within an acceptable course list can contribute to the sub-requirement and ultimately requirement hours. For example, in the screenshot below, ENG168 is only allowed to contribute a maximum of two hours toward the sub-requirement/requirement totals (the requirement is looking for 15 hours overall).
The dropdown values allow you to select decimal points of credit and full hours up to a maximum of 9 hours.
During processing, this function works similar to setting the Maximum Hours field. It does not split off credit over the maximum value, but it only allows the maximum amount to count upwards. So as in the screenshot below, even though the student took the course for five credit hours, only two are counting up in the sub-requirement and ultimately up to the requirement. Note, too, that the full GPA effect of the limited course is still applying.
Also note that if this is set on a wildcard course (using the COM.ANYC character, e.g., ENG***), the limit would apply to all courses matching the A-line. It will not function with course ranges or course lists, however.
