Passwords…they can be hard to remember! Here’s how to deal with passwords in TES®.
When your TES® Administrator adds you as a user to your institution’s account, an email is sent with your TES username and password. First, did you receive the email? The email is delivered from te*@co***********.com. An email from this sender may have gone into your spam folder. Second, can you remember the password? The password is generic and contains numbers and letters. It’s probably a difficult one to remember. You can change your password at any time by selecting Manage on the navigation menu, then select User Preferences to display your options.
Follow the rules for changing your password. Enter, confirm, then submit.
Your password is changed!
Note that you can also change your default login screen, or homepage, from User Preferences. Select your desired page from the choices listed that are based upon your user rights. Next time you log into TES, the selected page will display.
Have you forgotten your password? Use the”Forgot your password” link under the sign-in box.
Alternatively, you may contact your TES Administrator who can send you an email with your password. If you don’t receive the email, check your spam folder.
Note that your TES Administrator can not simply “look up” your password. While the Administrator can email you the password, they cannot reset your password or see it for security reasons. (Specifically, many people use the same password for multiple accounts. So compromising your password in TES, even to your Administrator, might also give that person a password to one of your personal or more rights-restricted work accounts.)
