From the President – “Did You Do the Charleston?”

CollegeSource User's Conference and Training Workshop If your experience at the 2013 CollegeSource User’s Conference and Training Workshop in Charleston was anything like mine, you may still be “coming down” from the excitement of seeing all the new product developments and re-connecting with colleagues. We had record-high attendance at this year’s conference and the CollegeSource staff unveiled an unprecedented amount of new features. By every measure, the conference was a huge success and a small part of me is already looking forward to next year in San Diego!  (The rest of me is relieved to have twelve months until then, because there is a lot of exciting work to dig into and complete before next June.)
To help you harness all the enthusiasm and  big ideas that you took away from the conference, and to generate some excitement for users who were unable to attend this year, we will be conducting a series of webinars that revisit the most interesting and useful presentations from the conference.
First on the list is the “big news” that in 2014, CollegeSource will be replacing u.select® with Transferology. Transferology carries forward all of the important features of u.select in a dynamic interface that was designed with the student-user in mind and tested with students at each stage of development. We are excited to get this product in the market and believe it will genuinely be the national network of transfer information for students. Transferology’s focused and mobile-responsive interface has proved extremely successful with students. They immediately understand the tool, are able to quickly navigate through it without assistance, and frequently ask us “Can I use this now?”
All this doesn’t mean we have forgotten about you, the staff of institutions of higher education! We are currently developing the Transferology Lab for those of you who need to research transfer information, respond to student activity involving your institution, and generally work toward making your institution more “transfer friendly.” Judging from the session evaluations and subsequent feedback from all of you who attended the conference, the tool is hitting the right notes for staff as well as students. The overwhelming majority of responses have been enthusiastic. I want to personally thank all of you who approached me at the conference and afterward with the messages like “keep going!” and “this is absolutely the right approach for serving students.” Positive feedback and affirmation from users is not only gratifying, it’s the stuff that keeps me and my amazing staff here at CollegeSource motivated.
We have already completed two webinars, recreating the two-part unveiling of Transferology at the conference. Currently these webinars are aimed at current u.select clients. You can register for the next Transferology webinar through the Support Center (follow the link or visit the Support Center and search for “Transferology”).
Other webinars are being announced weekly. Registration links will be provided by way of this news feed and through the News>Webinar Schedule portion of our website, so watch your email and check back regularly!
