2024 Transfer Week Webinar Series • Monday-Friday, October 21-25 • Register now
Given that 40% of college students will transfer at least once during their academic careers, the ease of transfer for students has become increasingly significant for staff at higher education institutions. A recent study from the US Government Accountability Office found that students could lose 37-43% of credits when transferring. This, combined with other obstacles such as a potential loss of financial aid or a delay in continuing their education, highlights the importance of statewide policies, articulation agreements, and, in general, an open conversation around transfer.
The National Transfer Student Week, which takes place the third week of October, was created by the National Institute for the Study of Transfer Students (NISTS) to celebrate the critical role transfer professionals play and “…build awareness of common transfer barriers and the diverse student needs and identities within our transfer populations.” To further this initiative, CollegeSource, a leading transfer solutions provider, developed the Transfer Week Webinar Series.
This year’s Transfer Week Webinar Series is free for anyone to join and will take place October 21-25. The main series sessions start at 2:00 p.m. ET each day. The sessions will focus on specific transfer-related topics, including the fundamental processes surrounding transfer, how initiatives at a community college increased transfer student enrollment, the reality of supporting transfer students, system-level strategies, and managing transfer initiatives at scale. Post-webinar discussions will also be held after each session to allow the audience to discuss the previous session, share insights with peers, and ask questions. Additionally, CollegeSource offers product demos on TES, Transferology, uAchieve, and the Higher Ed Policy Central on Monday through Thursday at 1:00 p.m. ET to show how our products aid transfer professionals.
